Things that make your home sell faster

  1. Open the curtains, pull up the blinds, and let in the sunlight.
  2. Create a positive vibe. Turn on all the lights, day and night, and install high wattage bulbs that will show your home brightly.
  3. Remove any clutter from all the rooms to visually enlarge them.
  4. If you have a fireplace, highlight it in your decorating.
  5. Keep your home dusted and vacuumed at all times. 
  6. Replace your carpet if it does not clean well.
  7. Have a plan to get the home in order quickly if necessary. 
  8. Spray a light amount of air freshener throughout the house so it has a chance to diffuse before the buyer arrives. 
  9. Remove unnecessary furniture to improve traffic flow.
  10. Make your entry feel more spacious by using decorative accents and removing unnecessary furniture. 
  11. Spackle and paint over any holes or mishaps on the walls
  12. Paint all interior walls a neutral color to brighten the home and make it feel bigger  
  13. Repair or replace any damaged wallpaper.
  14. Clean all light fixtures to brighten the home. 
  15. Wash all windows inside and out. 
  16. Remove or hide excess extension cords and exposed wires.
  17. Open all doors to areas that you would want a buyer to see such as, walk in pantry, walk in closets, etc.
  18. Remove pet and smoke odors.
  19. Repair or replace staircase banisters and handrails.
  20. Keep your bathrooms and kitchen spotlessly clean.
  21. Remove all small appliances to expand your counter space. 
  22. Depersonalize the house, decorate in a neutral scheme, and take down personal photos. 
  23. Make sure that all the beds are made and the linens are clean.
  24. Organize closets and store unnecessary items.
  25. Do not leave used towels out and wipe down sinks and showers after use. 
  26. Re-caulk the tub/shower if it does not appear clean.
  27. Repair or replace any broken tiles in the shower/tub. 
  28. Put out fresh towels. 
  29. Keep the lawn mowed.
  30. Use potted plants/flowers to make the walkway, and patio look nice. 
  31. Remove toys, garbage, bikes, tools, and unsightly patio furniture from the yard.
  32. Keep all patios, porches, balconies, etc. swept and decluttered. 
  33. Paint entrance doors, if needed.
  34. Make sure that the garage door operates correctly and fix and or paint if needed.
  35. Trim all trees and shrubs.
  36. Add a new front doormat. 
  37. Be sure that the doorbell operates.
  38. Be sure the front door is clean and the screen door works properly.
