The OKC Metro New Year’s Eve Fun

There is never a shortage of fun in the Oklahoma City metro and special occasions like New Year’s Eve are no exception. Here is a list of fun events happening all across the metro to celebrate the last day of 2018.

Dec. 29

FREE New Year’s Mask at Lakeshore Learning (6300 N May Ave). Kids ages 3 & over can enjoy a free craft time. No reservations necessary. 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Through Dec. 30

Studio Sunday: Radical Tile Designs at Oklahoma City Museum of Art (415 Couch Dr) features activities inspired by the special exhibition, Victorian Radicals: From Pre-Raphaelites. Draw inspiration from the exhibition’s many earthenware tiles and decorate a 4”x4” ceramic bisque tile. All ages welcome. Free with admission. 1 – 4 p.m.

Through Dec. 31

FREE Holiday Water Taxi Rides on the Bricktown Canal (California Ave) features a fun-filled float down the beautifully-adorned Bricktown canal. 6:30 – 9 p.m.

Dec. 30 & 31

New Year’s Eve Balloon Drop at Tot Town (841 SW 119th St) features a party hat craft, silly photo booth and a firework countdown with balloon drop. Preregister. $10 per child. Saturday, 4:30 – 6 p.m.; Sunday, 3 – 4:30 p.m.

Dec. 31

Noon Year’s Eve at the Oklahoma WONDERtorium (308 W Franklin Ln, Stillwater). Guests are encouraged to play in the museum and enjoy special activities like a count down to noon, complete with a ball drop and a special bubble stomp. Activities are free with admission. Over 12 mos, $7. 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

FREE Rockin’ Noon Year’s Eve Party at the Moore Library (225 S Howard Ave, Moore) features games, crafts, music and fun as you rock the last noon of the year. 11 a.m. – noon.

FREE Happy Noon Year’s Activities at the Almonte Library (2914 SW 59th St) features games, crafts and a noon-time countdown. 11 a.m. – noon.

FREE Happy Noon Year’s Bash at the Edmond Library (10 S Boulevard, Edmond) features a dance party with crafts and a noon-time countdown. Preregister. 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

FREE New Year Crafts at the Downtown Library (300 Park Ave) features crafts and games to celebrate the new year, including a practice countdown. 1 – 4 p.m.

Opening Night Finale 5K at Bicentennial Park (500 Couch Dr) features a 5k race beginning and ending at the Finale Site, just east of Bicentennial Park. Neon, glitter, capes and costumes are welcome as the most festively dressed wins an original piece of art. $35, includes Open Night wristband. 3 p.m.

New Year’s Eve at Oklahoma City Museum of Art (415 Couch Dr). Ring in the New Year with musical performances, fireworks and a champagne or sparkling grape juice toast. Edgar Cruz will perform in the Samuel Roberts Noble Theater and OKC Philharmonic’s String Trio will serenade guests in the lobby. Guests can also enjoy dinner family style at the Museum Cafe. Opening Night wristbands grant access to the performances but additional tickets must be purchased for the Roof Terrace Celebration. Members, $5; nonmembers, $10. 7 p.m. – 12:15 a.m.

Opening Night at Bicentennial Park (500 Couch Dr) features evening of music, comedy, magic and fireworks at midnight to ring in the New Year. All ages are welcome. Children can create festive art projects in the Children’s Area located inside the Civic Center Hall of Mirrors. $8 in advance, $10 at the event, children (under 5), free. 7 p.m. – midnight.

New Year’s Eve Bash at Skate Galaxy (5800 NW 36th St). Ring in the New Year at Skate Galaxy! All ages welcome. $15. 7 p.m. – 1 a.m.
