Hello March! Goodbye February! Goodbye defrosting your car windows in the morning. Goodbye waking up to an ice storm. Hellooo flowers, and warmer weather, and babies, and Spring! We’re so excited that you decided to join us! January dragged by and February was a sprint so once again it’s time to slow down a little and enjoy this beautiful month and Spring season!
You: But what is there to do when it’s still a little brisk and rainy out?
Excellent question, concerned reader. We’ve got a couple ideas to keep you busy other than staying inside and playing board games and doing puzzles. Not that there’s anything wrong with puzzles… we love a good puzzle day but here are some fun upcoming events in Edmond/OKC to get you up and out of the house!
MARCH 2 – First Friday Gallery Walk
Every first Friday of the month in the Paseo District more than 80 artists, all within walking distance of each other, open their doors and stay open late for the First Friday Gallery Walk.
MARCH 3 -FREE Kids Trout Fish Out
A free kid’s trout fishing even happening at the Dale Robertson Center! The day includes a fishing derby for your young anglers and an excellent experience overall! This event takes place from 8 to 11 am.
MARCH 8th through the 11th – 101st OKC International Auto Show
Happening at the State Fairgrounds, dozens of unique cars from the 50s all the way up to 2019 models will gather for an incredible show!
MARCH 17 – OKC St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Be sure to wear your green shirt to this parade or you might get pinched! Starting at 11am you and your kiddos can enjoy a exciting and colorful (mostly green) display of local groups and organizations heading through the parade. You might even luck out and have some candy thrown your way!
MARCH 25 – 30th Anniversary Myriad Botanical Gardens Celebration
In honor of 30 years of business in OKC the Myriad Botanical Gardens is offering free admission to the Crystal Bridge in celebration of its first opening in 1988. This event takes place 11am to 5pm.
MARCH 27 – Yoga Tuesday In The Park
Come to the Myriad Botanical Gardens once again for a $5-$10 instructor led yoga session! All attendees need to bring is a yoga mat and water! Event begins at 5:45pm!
MARCH 31 – Egg Hunt 5k
For only $35 you can run a short 5k race and relive the glory days by hunting for Easter Eggs simultaneously! Finding eggs will take time off your race time and golden eggs contain prizes! This portion of the event starts at 10am. Earlier in the day, you and your 0-5 year old can enjoy a jr. Easter egg hunt and your older children can run a half mile course to hunt for Easter eggs! Both of those events start at 9:15am.
