Summer Fun is Here at Last!
Summer has officially started, a time for swimming pools, baseball games, and campfires. However, summer time can tend to slow down and leave us feeling a little bored. Here are few ideas for some summer fun around the OKC area.
An OKC Dodgers Game
Baseball is America’s past time, and there’s nothing like the feeling of being at the park, hearing the crack of the bat, and scarfing down some hot dogs. Head on down to Bricktown and enjoy a game at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark for a true All-American experience!
The Science Museum Oklahoma
Why not make make a fun activity an educational one as well? The Science Museum hosts a multitude of exhibits including Bodies Revealed, Backyard Bugs, and it’s very own Planetarium!

Heard on Hurd
Hosted by the Citizens Bank of Edmond, Heard on Hurd is a family-friendly street festival occurring every third Saturday from March through October at the corner of Broadway and Hurd in downtown Edmond. With local food, unique shopping, and live music it’s definitely a slice of Edmondite life that you should check out!
Pops
Located near Lake Arcadia in Edmond, Pops is a soda pop themed restaurant that plays host to over 700 different types of soda. It’s located just off of Route 66 and marked by a giant neon soda bottle. It has become a local landmark and has won numerous awards for it’s unique architecture. We recommend that you stay away from the bacon flavored sodas though!
Visit A Park
Parks are a wonderful way to pass the time with many trails, playgrounds, and wide open spaces for you to run and play, or just relax in. Edmond is home to many such parks as these, and we recommend you visit them all! Plan an outing, complete with a picnic and a hike!
Frontier City
To end our list, there is nothing that screams summer more than a theme park. Frontier City is a western themed amusement park opened in 1958 in northern Oklahoma City. The park contains 28 rides with 5 roller coasters and 3 water rides, perfect to cool off on hot summer days!
The OKC area is ripe with fun activities and it’s just waiting to be explored, so get out there and see it all!
