Last Minute Finger Food Recipes for Christmas Day!

Christmas is only three days away!! We hope you have all of your presents wrapped, menus in place, and Christmas decorations just the way you had imagined. But, if you’re in need of a last minute snack for your guests to much on while you prepare a delicious Christmas dinner, we’ve got you covered! See below for some of our favorite, easy-to-make recipes.

 

Asian Cashew Crunch

Ingredients

  • 1 16-ounce box of Honey Oat Quaker Oatmeal Squares Cereal (about 8 cups)
  • 2 cups chow mein noodles
  • 1 cup cashews
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Directions

Heat oven to 250°F. In a large bowl, combine cereal, chow mein noodles and cahews; mix well. In a small bowl, combine oil, soy sauce, garlic powder and onion powder; mix well. Quickly pour over cereal mixture; stir to coat evenly. Pour into a 13 x 9-inch baking pan and spead mixture out into an even layer. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool completely, then enjoy!

 

Benne-Maple Roasted Pecans

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 4 cups pecan halves, toasted
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted

Directions

Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-high heat; stir in pecans and next 5 ingredients. Cook, stirring constantly — 5 minutes or until syrupy coating on nuts almost evaporates. Stir in sesame oil; remove from heat. Spread pecans in a parchment paper-lined jelly-roll pan; sprinkle with sesame seeds. Cool completely, then enjoy!

 

Peanut Butter Balls (our personal favorite!!)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sifted powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 lb dipping chocolate

Directions

Stir together peanut butter and butter until combined, then add powdered sugar until combined. Shape peanut butter mixture into 1-inch balls, placing them on a baking sheet covered with waxed paper. Let balls stand for 20 minutes until dry. Melt the dipping chocolate completely, then drop balls into the chocolate one at a time using a fork to completely cover in chocolate. Remove peanut butter ball from chocolate and place back on the waxed paper. Let stand until dry.
