The RED Team’s Tips and Tricks #1: DIY House Cleaners

It can cost a fortune to hire a professional to clean areas outside of your home that don’t get as much attention. Homemade house cleaners are effective and you save money on house cleaning products sold in stores. Not to mention, they usually contain less toxic chemicals.  Below are three great alternatives to typical house cleaners that work as well, if not better!

If you are wanting to spruce up your windows, use 1/4 cup of white vinegar mixed with 1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol, and the rest water in a spray bottle. This recipe leaves no streaks behind!

Driveways can get dirty so quickly and are difficult to maintain spotless, especially if a leaking vehicle has been sitting. Simply mix powdered laundry detergent with water to create a paste, scrub with a wire brush and rinse. Your driveway will be spotless!

This cleaner DOES contain bleach chemicals, but it is intended to clean siding or brick on the outside of your house. Simply fill a bucket with water and a half of a cup of a powdered cleaner, such as OxiClean. Use a long brush to scrub with!
