Happy Flag Day!
Today is Flag Day! On May 30, 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued an official presidential proclamation to establish Flag Day on June 14th. Many Americans show their patriotism of Flag Day by displaying our Nation’s beautiful flag in front of homes and businesses. This day celebrates the adoption of the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States!
The American Flag is a National symbol of our cherished freedom. We fly the flag to proudly to show our support for our military as well as our country. If you would like to participate in flying a flag today, below are some tips for flag etiquette and displaying our flag respectfully:
- Display the flag only between sunrise and sundown. The flag should only be displayed during nighttime hours if illuminated.
- Do not display the flag in inclement weather.
- Do not allow the flag to touch the ground.
The RED Team hopes you have a great Flag Day!
