Prepare for Launch– Its National Space Day!


The first Friday in May is observed annually as National Space Day! It was was originally founded in 1997 by the Lockheed Martin Corporation as a one day event.  Due to much popularity, former astronaut and Senator John Glenn expanded Space Day to International Space Day in 2001.

Educational programs hosted by museums, teachers, and science enthusiasts host exciting events each year on National Space Day.  This year, the Science Museum is hosting a variety of special hands-on activities and live demonstrations.
