Groundhog Day!

Today is Groundhog Day! Early this morning in Pennsylvania, a crowed gathered around Gobbler’s Knob and waiting for the groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, to come out of this home. Once out of his home, he was picked up, placed on a log, and most importantly, he didn’t see his shadow. Because he didn’t see his shadow, this means that winter will soon be over and an early spring is coming. Although, here in Oklahoma, it already feels like spring is starting to come. Saturday’s 77 degree weather was amazing!

Phil isn’t the only groundhog who confirmed the early spring. In Canada, Shubenacadie Sam did not see his shadow. Although it was about 20 degrees outside, Canadians now have high hopes for the coming months. Beau in Georgia did not see his shadow and onlookers were given free coffee and hot chocolate from the Waffle House across the street.

We’re glad spring is coming quickly! I know I was a little scared that we might get hit by an unexpected winter this month. What do you think about groundhogs day? Let us know!
