Come enjoy the fun on December 31, at OKC’s annual “Opening Night” party hosted by the Arts Council Oklahoma City.
There will be a festive 5k starting at 4pm and then later at 7pm there will be live music, food trucks, children’s craft and performance areas, and it’ll conclude with fireworks to celebrate the new year.
The 5k winds through downtown and over the Skybridge with entertainment all along the route. The awards include original artwork and the top three finishers in each age group will receive a pottery medal while overall finishers receive an original sculpture.
At the children’s craft area in the Civic Center Hall of Mirrors you can get your face painted, work on an interactive art project, play in a game area and enjoy music performances.
Finale Alley is a new addition that hosts some of the city’s best food trucks in Bicentennial Park until midnight. Which is also where the countdown and firework show will take place.
Wristbands can be purchased at 7-Eleven locations, metro Homeland Stores, MidFirst Bank locations, and the Science Museum Oklahoma. Wristbands will be $8 if bought in advance in any of the locations mentioned or $10 at any of the entrances on the day of.
Performances include: Urban Addiction, Bricktown Clowns, Abby Lauren, OKC Improv, Michael Kin, Edgar Cruz, Tequila Azul and Shortt Dogg.
