“Dad’s Day 5K” To Benefit Lilyfield
The inaugural Dad’s Day 5K, including a 5k, one-mile and Tot Trot run is expected to draw hundred of participants to Oklahoma Christian University June 13th to have a good time for a good cause. The event, which will include food trucks, entertainment and kid’s activities, benefits Lilyfield, an organization that provides stable, loving families for children through adoptive and foster care “Finding families who lovingly open their homes and hearts to children is at the heart of our mission,” says Executive Director Holly Towers. “This run is a great way to show the dads in your life how much they mean to you, and at the same time support those in our community who are still searching for theirs.”
“I can’t think of a better way to honor my dad than by supporting an organization that helps kids in the foster-care system” says Mandy White of Edmond.
According to event organizer Mike Osburn of Plan Ahead Events, it will provide a unique opportunity to do good while having fun. “Between the fun run, food trucks and entertainment, there’s no way you can’t have fun!
The added bonus of helping foster children is icing on the cake.”
