Filling the Calendar with Fun

Don’t have much on the calendar in the next couple weeks? Here is a list of some of the top activities, shows and adventures you should think about!

 

Annual Eagle Watch: Friday, Jan. 2 – Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015 Between 8:00a.m. – 4:00 Dress warm and bring your binoculars. Begin at the Arcadia Lake Park Office, 9000 E. 2nd Street (located approx. 3.5 miles east of I-35 on Route 66) to receive information about where the Eagles can be found. A Little Romance: January 10, OKC Phil. Jean- Yves Thibaudet, piano

 

Strings around the World: January 12-13, All Souls and St. Paul’s Cathedral. Music is universal joy which requires no translation. The concert entitled “World Traveling Violin” features special guest Dr Cyrus Beroukhim and works by Mozart, Sheng and many more.

 

Planting Ideas: January 16-18, State Fairgrounds. Spring is coming. And when it does you will want to know what to plant! OKC Home and Garden Show will pay fruitful dividends. Over 500 experts and vendors in landscape, remodeling, cooking and designing will be sharing their knowledge with you.

 

Avant-Art: January 23, Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center. One night only to come and enjoy the art, live performances, tastes, drinks and a chance to chat with the talented artist.

 

All that Jazz: January 23-24, OKC Phil. A symphonic Cebration of Kander and EEB.

 

Follow That Bird: January 26-27, Armstrong Theatre. It is, without exaggeration, the most famous Ballet in the world. It is rarely more ravishingly beautiful than when presented by the Russian National Ballet Theater- relish the epic grace that is “Swan lake” in one of their two special performances.

 

Sweet Sensation: January 31, Marriott at NCED. Sample your pick of delectable cocoa-infused treat and get a feel for how the firehouse encourages community creativity at the wondrous Chocolate Festival. It is a must! YUM!

 

Mystery and Magic: February 7, OKC Phil. Julie Albers, cello. Ravel: Pavane for a Dead Princess, Elgar: Cello Concerto, Mendelssohn: Overture to a Midsummer Night’s Dream and Music from a Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Pixar in Concert: February 20-21 OKC Phil. Enjoy the artistry of Pixar Animation  with stunning HD, widescreen images with a live musical performance by a full symphony orchestra.
