Cool Edmond Facts & FREE Admission to the Edmond Historical Musuem
Did you know that Edmond, OK was named after Edmond Schuyler Burdick? He was a traveling Freight Agent for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. The town of Edmond use to be “Mile Marker 103”, but it was officially changed to “Edmond” by Santa Fe officials in March of 1887. Many cities along the Santa Fe railroad were named after official personnel including Guthrie, OK. Go to the Edmond Historical Museum for more interesting facts about Edmond, OK for FREE! I also recommend taking your children because there is a whole area dedicated to kids that includes a “play” jail, market, bank, train station, house, garden and more! I took my children this morning and we had a blast! I was only able to capture one picture of them playing, but make sure you check it out sometime! The museum does appreciate any donation for coming to explore!
