I overheard a lady talking about going to the movies at the Myriad Gardens so I had to get some more information. Look at all the fun activities I found for you and your family to do at the Myriad Gardens! Oklahoma City has new and exciting events going on all the time, I just never take the time to search for them. So here they are for you to put in your planner! See you there!

Due to extreme heat the Scientific Sunday program is on hold until September. Classes listed below will be held.

Ongoing through September 9
Red Earth Invitational Sculpture Exhibit

This summer the Myriad Botanical Gardens will be further enhanced with a variety of awe-inspiring Native American sculptures installed outdoors in the Meinders Garden and indoors in the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory’s south entrance visitors’ center. The exhibition will include a range of works, from classical to abstract, to monumental sized pieces of sculpture created by Native American artists Denny Haskew, Enoch Kelly Haney, Janice Albro, Troy Anderson, Shan Gray, Clancy Gray, Gordon Tonips and others. The exhibition is done in partnership with Oklahoma City’s Red Earth Inc. All works are for sale and proceeds benefit the Myriad Gardens Foundation, Red Earth Museum and artists

Ongoing every Thursday through August 30, 5-8p.m.
Cocktails in the Gardens
Bring your co-workers and friends to the Gardens Restaurant for this fun opportunity to mix and mingle in the cool setting of the beautiful Garden Restaurant. Held every Thursday through August from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Light hor d’oeuvres, live music and a cash bar. $5 cover. No cover for Myriad Botanical Gardens members.

FREE and Open to the public. Bring blankets and lawn chairs.

Solar Cooking in the Children’s Garden
Build a solar oven and have a cookout with hot dogs and s’mores using the sun as your only heat source. Non-members:$10 Members:$5

August 18, 10am
Water Balloon Throwing Contest
Be cool while you have fun tossing around water balloons. Join us for the fun while balloon supplies last. Non-members:$2 Members:FREE

August 25, 10am-Noon
Scavenger Hunt
Forage for flowers during this scavenger hunt in the Children’s Garden. Then make your own homemade ice cream. Non-members:$5 Members:FREE

October 12 & 13
Autumn Foliage Tour to Southeastern Oklahoma and Arkansas
Enjoy the journey and the destination! Travel the 54-mile Talimena Drive, Arkansas’ Scenic Route 88 and visit the Garvan Woodland Gardens, a 210-acre garden in Arkansas’ Hot Springs National Park. Register by calling 405.297.3611.
