Tip for taking care of your home in the cold weather
I know the cold weather hit months ago, but I am just not use to seeing snow all the time. So I thought I would remind you about a few things that will help you keep your home in tip-top shape during the winter.
First, be sure to turn your sprinkler system totally off during the winter. Some people even have a sprinkler repair company come out and winterize the lines by draining all of the water out of them so they do not freeze. Second, if you see any water spots on the ceiling, call your insurance company or a roofer immediately. Hail, sleet, snow and rain can damage your roof and cause more damage if they are not repaired quickly. Making sure your doors are sealed correctly can be a great money saver. Some seals get pulled out of place or ripped off and then a cold draft come through your warm house. Even keeping your curtains shut can help keep the warmth from your heater inside. Lastly, if you don’t want to damage you concrete, don’t put ice melt on it. Ice melt causes erosion and may cause your concrete to become very porous and erode.
Hope these tips will help you out sometime in the future.
